Rashie Hodge of Mountain Pointe (Ariz.) voted Super 25 Top Star

Rashie Hodge of Mountain Pointe (Phoenix) has been voted the Super 25 Top Star for games of Oct. 13-15 by readers of USA TODAY High School Sports.

Hodge ran for 212 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries in No. 11 Mountain Pointe’s 27-13 win Friday at Desert Ridge (Mesa).  Hodge, who was primarily a linebacker, has been unleashed on offense.

TOP STAR: Here were this week’s 10 nominees and vote totals

With sophomore Nick Wallerstedt making his first varsity start, the game plan was pound the ball.

“The offense came out ready to play,” Hodge said. “They were ready for a battle.”

The Pride face Corona Del Sol (Tempe) on Thursday night.

Hodge is the seventh Super 25 Top Star of the season. Weekly voting did not begin until all states were in action. The weekly winners will be part of voting for Super 25 Top Star of the Season after state championships are decided nationwide.
