Freshman Head Coach & Defensive Coordinator
Coach Bradford is in his fifth year with the Pride as the freshman head coach. This season, he takes on the added role of defensive coordinator. He previously was freshman head coach and varsity offensive line coach at Desert Ridge High in Mesa. He also has coached at the junior varsity and varsity levels at Campo Verde, Mesa and Maricopa high schools. Coach Bradford is a math teacher at Mountain Pointe. He is supported by his wife, Sommer, and three children: J.J., 12; Emma, 10; and Jerrett, 6.
Receivers & Defensive Backs
Coach Reagan is in his second year with the Pride. An Arizona native, he received a Bachelor’s in Secondary Education and Masters in Physical Education at Arizona State. He coached at Sunnyslope High, where the team posted its first10-win season in more than a decade. Coach Reagan is in his third year as a teacher at Kyrene Middle School in the Physical Education and Health Dept. He is the President of Dynamic Athletes Performance and is developing a program to improve the athletic ability of student athletes from all sports.
Running Backs & Linebackers
Coach Sharp is in his second season on the Pride staff. He played quarterback and running back at Morse High in San Diego before moving to Phoenix to attend DeVry University. He earned a degree in Electronics and works at Intel in Chandler as an equipment technician with 15 years of experience. He is married to Christina, a 1994 Mountain Pointe graduate. Their children are Candace, a 2013 MPHS graduate; Demarius, an MP junior, who plays in the football program; and Jalen.
Offensive Line &Defensive Line
Coach Espindola, who was on the Pride freshman and junior varsity staffs 2006-12, returns to the program this season. He had been at Gilbert High coaching at the JV and varsity levels. Before his first stint at Mountain Pointe, he coached the freshman lines at Seton Catholic. Coach Espindola is a graduate of Corona del Sol, where he was a three-year letterman and played on the 1980 football and basketball state championship teams.
Coach Espindola has a fiancée, Christine; daughter, Andrea, a Mountain Pointe graduate, who played volleyball for the Pride; and son, Jeremy, a 2010 MP graduate, and All-Region center in football.
Coach Heinz is a graduate of Arizona State University, where he received a degree in Secondary History Education. He returns to the Pride in 2015 as Freshman Offensive Coordinator. In 2009 and 2010, while a student at ASU, he worked with MP varsity and freshman quarterbacks and wide receivers. In 2011 he coached Globe Middle School to its first Central Junior High League Championship. From 2012-1014, he coached Tolleson High’s varsity defensive backs and quarterbacks. In 2014, Tolleson quarterbacks broke school records for completions, yardage, and touchdowns. In 2013 and 2014, Heinz’s defensive backs led their section in interceptions.
