Under the direction of Joshua Hartgrove, the Mountain Pointe band keeps the football players and fans pumped through four quarters of action on Friday nights.

Mountain Pointe High School to Celebrate New Football Field at Sept. 18 Home Opener
Students, parents and the community are invited to be part of the festivities to celebrate the new field at Mountain Pointe High School’s Karl Kiefer Stadium just prior to the 7 p.m. kick off of the Pride’s Sept. 18, 2015 home opener against Basha.
The Arizona Cardinals and Walmart teamed up to renovate the field as part of their Neighborhood Heroes program, an effort to give back to the community and local high schools.
Arizona Cardinals Vice President Nicole Bidwill, Tempe Union High School District Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Baca and Mountain Pointe Principal Bruce Kipper will take part in the on field ribbon cutting. The Cardinals cheerleaders, Big Red, Walmart representatives, and other dignitaries will also attend, including retired Cardinals players Frank Sanders and Patrick Hunter who will participate in the coin toss for the football game.

The Arizona Cardinals selected Mountain Pointe In December as a recipient of the Cards’ annual community service project to have their field re-done by the latter’s grounds crew.
The process began this week after the graduation ceremony took place at Karl Kiefer Stadium.
The project, which started with an application process, began with the removal of the old turf and top soil this week.
A new playing surface will be put in place and be ready to go next fall.
The Cardinals crew will also provide education to the Mountain Pointe grounds department and how to take care of it moving forward.
The old field had trouble holding up through the season with football and two soccer teams.

Coach Vaughan will be holding 2 meetings this week after Varsity practices:
JV parents/guardians — Wednesday, April 29th — 7:30 pm — small gym
Varsity parents/guardians — Thursday, April 30th — 7:30 pm — small gym
These will be informational meetings. In addition to sharing his expectations regarding the players, he will bring everyone up to speed regarding such topics as:
1) Summer weightlifting program. Dates/times and reason the times have changed.
2) Summer football program. Dates/times and reason why the dates were picked.
3) Coach Vaughan will go over the current “draft” football schedule and elaborate on what is going on with the AIA and Division I football in Arizona.
4) Coach Vaughan will update everyone on coaching staff.
5) Coach Vaughan will update everyone on the latest regarding the new football field being donated by the Arizona Cardinals. The installation of the new field will effect summer football.
6) Coach Vaughan will go over requirements regarding player physicals and when players can get them right at Mountain Pointe High School
7) He will go over new paperwork that parents/guardians must sign in order for your player to be eligible to even start practice.
8) Additional topics will be covered and he will be able to answer any questions you may have.

The MPHS Football Booster Club, Inc. is a non-profit Public Charity 501(c)(3) corporation established to support the MPHS Football Program. The Booster Club was formed exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, with all funds directed to the mission “To foster Purpose, Pride and Performance in all activities related to theMountain Pointe High School Football Program”.
The Booster Club provides critical services to the MPHS Football Program, including providing pre-game varsity meals to the 75 student athletes on game days, concussion monitoring equipment, safety equipment, practice & game video services, stadium security & clean-up for home games, funding team participation in summer training camps, funding coaches participation in professional coaching camps, operating concessions and MPHS Football logo merchandise sales, end of season banquets, MPHS Football website, etc.
All Booster Club activities are facilitated through parent volunteers. Without your generous support, we would not be able to continue building a world-class program for our students. While only a small percentage of our student athletes continue their football careers in college, their high school football experience provides a strong foundation of leadership, discipline and teamwork that will shape their character as they transition into adulthood
